Freemont Troll
N 36th ST and Troll Way
Seattle, WA 98103

The Fremont troll was approved by the Fremont arts council and constructed under the Aurora Bridge in 1990 by sculptors Steve Badanes, Will Martin, Donna Walter, and Ross Whitehead. It was created in an effort to stop dumping and make better use of the space under the Aurora Bridge. The Fremont troll stands 18 feet tall and is made of concrete and steel rebar. It has a shiny metal left eye and towers over a Volkswagen beetle that it grasps in its left hand.

The Fremont troll is one of the most unique artistic attractions in the Seattle area and is visited by hundreds if not thousands of people a year. If you go to visit the troll by car beware that there is not much parking available. In warmer summer months give yourself enough time to find parking and wait your turn for a picture with the troll.
