Memorial stadium is located in the northeast corner of Seattle Center and was built in 1948 in memory of the Seattle high school students that perished in World War II. The stadium wall in the parking lot, known as memorial wall, is inscribed with the names of the students who gave their lives in the war.

Memorial stadium is currently owned by the Seattle school district and was the former home of Seattle’s professional Soccer team the Seattle Sounders before they permanently moved to Qwest Field in 2003. Today the stadium is used for various high school sports and some concerts.
